The U.S. Justice Department has seized more than $200,000 in cryptocurrency linked to Hamas, striking a blow against an ongoing terror financing network.

Officials say the funds were funneled through Hamas-controlled digital wallets, which have reportedly laundered over $1.5 million in crypto since October 2024. The FBI led the investigation, tracking the transactions across multiple crypto addresses and exchanges.

“These seizures demonstrate our relentless pursuit of terrorist funding, no matter where it hides,” said U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr.

Among the assets confiscated were crypto wallets holding nearly $90,000 and three accounts totaling $111,500, reportedly registered under Palestinian individuals in Turkey and other locations.

The FBI’s Counterterrorism and Cyber Divisions, alongside the Albuquerque Field Office, played key roles in dismantling the financial pipeline. Authorities say the crackdown is part of a broader strategy to cut off illicit funding streams used by extremist groups.
