The Kaduna State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has made it clear—former Governor Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai is not a recognized member of the party.

Addressing journalists in Kaduna on Friday, the SDP’s Assistant National Secretary for the North-West, Alhaji Idris Inuwa, also dismissed claims that the party’s State Working Committee had been dissolved.

He accused certain individuals of attempting to hijack the party, insisting that the current Kaduna State Executive Committee was legally elected through a proper congress and holds a valid four-year mandate.

“Any move to dissolve this leadership outside the constitutional framework is illegal and a direct attack on internal democracy,” Inuwa stated.

He further condemned what he described as a baseless attempt to impose a caretaker committee, calling it “null, void, and of no effect whatsoever.”

While welcoming new members, Inuwa emphasized that joining the party must follow due process, reinforcing the SDP’s commitment to transparency and fairness.
