Manchester City’s title hopes have taken a hit as Erling Haaland is set to be sidelined due to an ankle injury, leaving a significant void in the team’s attack.

The Norwegian striker, who has been in sensational form this season, was injured during City’s 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Bournemouth on Sunday. Just after scoring his 30th goal of the season to level the tie, Haaland collided with Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook and was forced off the pitch.

The club has yet to provide a clear timeline for his return but remains optimistic that Haaland will be fit to contribute in key upcoming matches, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

A club statement confirmed that Haaland underwent initial tests and will consult with specialists to determine the full extent of the injury. The situation remains under evaluation.

Currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League, City is fighting to secure a Champions League spot for next season. The team faces critical matches against Leicester and Manchester United this week, followed by a visit from Crystal Palace and a trip to Everton before the FA Cup semi-final clash with Nottingham Forest at Wembley on April 26.
