Lewis Hamilton has fired back at claims that he’s losing faith in Ferrari, calling the rumors “complete rubbish” ahead of this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka.
The seven-time world champion has already experienced a rollercoaster start with Ferrari—finishing 10th in Australia, clinching his first sprint race win in China, and then facing the disappointment of disqualification from the Chinese Grand Prix due to a technical infringement.
Despite the setback, Hamilton insists his belief in the team remains unshaken.
“I have absolute 100 percent faith in this team,” he told reporters.
Hamilton: “Winning from Race One Was Never My Expectation”
Hamilton acknowledged the massive hype surrounding his blockbuster move from Mercedes to Ferrari, but he believes expectations need to be realistic.
“I don’t know if people thought we’d be winning from race one and fighting for a title immediately, but that was never my expectation,” he explained. “I’m adapting to a new team, a new culture—it takes time.”
Hamilton Calls Red Bull’s Driver Switch ‘Harsh’
Switching gears to the Red Bull driver shake-up, Hamilton wasn’t surprised that Yuki Tsunoda replaced Liam Lawson just two races into the season—but he wasn’t a fan of how it happened.
“It was pretty harsh,” Hamilton said, expressing sympathy for the 23-year-old Lawson. “There’s a lot of pressure on young drivers, and two races just isn’t enough time to prove yourself.”
As Hamilton prepares for Suzuka, one thing is clear—he’s all in with Ferrari, and he’s ready to prove the doubters wrong.
