The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, has congratulated the newly appointed leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), describing their appointments as a bold step toward a stronger and more competitive oil and gas sector.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Nneamaka Okafor, Lokpobiri commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic appointments, which include Mr. Ahmadu Musa Kida as Board Chairman and Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari as Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), alongside other board members.
“This marks a crucial phase in repositioning NNPCL to meet the ever-evolving demands of the global energy market,” Lokpobiri stated. “With the wealth of experience brought by this new leadership, I am confident that Nigeria’s petroleum industry will witness transformative progress.”
Reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with NNPCL, the Minister called on stakeholders, investors, and partners to support the new leadership in driving sustainable growth and maximizing value across the petroleum value chain.
He also acknowledged the contributions of former GCEO Mele Kyari, appreciating his dedicated service to the nation.
“With President Tinubu’s administration prioritizing reforms, Nigeria remains committed to fostering an environment that encourages investment, innovation, and long-term transformation in the oil and gas sector,” Lokpobiri added.
As the new board assumes its role, all eyes are on NNPCL to steer the country’s energy industry toward a more efficient and prosperous future.
