Hands Off America: Myrtle Beach Joins National Uprising Against Trump and Musk
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
On a sunny Saturday in Myrtle Beach, something bigger than the beach breeze swept through Chapin Memorial Park—a full-blown grassroots rebellion. Locals joined thousands across the country for the Hands Off! protests, calling out what they see as a power grab by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
Chants echoed through the park as homemade signs were lifted high—each one carrying a personal demand. Their message was clear: stop the billionaire-driven takeover of jobs, health care, public services, and personal data.
These protests are part of the fast-growing 50501 Movement, representing 50 states, 50 protests, and one mission: to protect democracy from corporate and political overreach.
This all came to a boil after “Liberation Day” on April 2, when Trump introduced sweeping tariffs affecting every U.S. import, rattling the economy and sparking concerns from Main Street to Wall Street.
In Myrtle Beach, protestors came from every walk of life—law enforcement officers, federal employees, clinical researchers, and LGBTQ+ advocates—standing shoulder-to-shoulder with one voice. They weren’t just angry. They were protective of the America they grew up with.
“Our parents were first-generation immigrants from Italy,” said one protestor, emotion in her voice. “They worked hard for the rights we have today. Now it’s our turn to fight for the future of our kids.”
But this wasn’t just about policy—it was about pride. Protesters made it clear they love their country and wanted their voices heard in a peaceful, powerful, and unshakable way.
As tensions rise and more Americans feel squeezed by top-down decisions, the movement shows no sign of slowing. One thing’s for sure: Myrtle Beach has spoken—and the nation is listening.
