Former Nigerian Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, has strongly rebutted accusations made by Senator Elisha Abbo, calling them “pathetic lies” and categorically denying any involvement in judicial manipulation.
In a statement released on April 4, Nnamani responded to Abbo’s claims during an interview on Arise News Channel’s Prime Time with Charles Aniagolu, where Abbo alleged that Nnamani had once visited him to plead on behalf of a judge, attempting to influence a legal matter.
“My greatest surprise was hearing Senator Abbo say that I visited him to intervene on behalf of a judge for a miscarriage of justice. This is an outright lie. I have never visited him,” Nnamani fired back.
The former Senate President refuted the allegations point-by-point, insisting that he had never met Abbo at his residence or discussed his legal challenges. “For the record, I don’t even know where Senator Abbo lives. The only time we met was when he visited me for a social chat, and at no point did we discuss legal matters,” he clarified.
Nnamani expressed dismay that a former Senator would resort to such falsehoods, especially when such actions can harm others. “I didn’t expect someone of his standing to weave such lies. It’s disappointing that people resort to falsehoods for personal gain,” he remarked.
In light of the allegations, Nnamani stated that he is considering taking legal action against Abbo for defamation. “I’ve built a career based on integrity, and I’m determined to protect my name from such baseless fabrications,” he affirmed.
The seasoned politician concluded by urging the public to ignore Abbo’s claims, reaffirming that they were “pathetic lies” with no foundation in truth.
