Real Madrid superstar Vinícius Júnior might be facing a shock suspension from football—and it has nothing to do with his on-field conduct.
The Brazilian winger, known for his electric pace and game-changing flair, is reportedly under FIFA investigation for allegedly co-owning multiple football clubs while still an active player—something strictly prohibited under global football rules.
The probe was triggered by a formal complaint to the FIFA Ethics Committee from Tiberis Holding, a Brazilian investment firm. They claim that Vinícius, 25, is financially tied to ALL Agenciamento Desportivo, a football business he co-owns with his father, Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira, and businessman Thassilo Soares.
According to the complaint, the company is actively involved in buying and managing football clubs—raising eyebrows within FIFA’s regulatory framework. In February, Vinícius allegedly acquired Portuguese second-division side Alverca for €10 million. Tiberis also claims they were pressured into selling a 16.5% stake in Athletic Club de São João del-Rei to Vinícius’s firm.
What’s at stake? Possible breaches of Article 20 of FIFA’s Code of Ethics and Article 22 of the Spanish Football Federation’s Code of Sports Justice, both of which prohibit players from having ownership or management roles in football clubs due to potential conflicts of interest.
If found guilty, Vinícius could face a ban of up to two years from all football-related activities, including playing, training, and club representation—an unimaginable twist in the career of one of Real Madrid’s brightest stars.
For now, Real Madrid has made no official statement, and the football world watches closely as FIFA continues its investigation into one of the most explosive off-pitch stories of the season.
