Real Madrid’s star forward Kylian Mbappe will miss their Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Sociedad on Wednesday due to a dental problem.

The Frenchman, who has been in red-hot form with 28 goals in 39 appearances this season, did not train with his teammates on Tuesday. While coach Carlo Ancelotti initially suggested Mbappe would travel with the squad, he was ultimately left out of the final selection.

Midfielder Fede Valverde and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois were also omitted as they recover from minor fitness concerns. However, England’s Jude Bellingham is back in the squad after serving a suspension during Madrid’s recent La Liga victory over Girona.

Meanwhile, the other semi-final produced fireworks on Tuesday, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid playing out a thrilling 4-4 draw in their first-leg encounter.
