The Benue Vehicle Payment Scandal has sparked public debate after social media activist VeryDarkMan accused the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia of failing to pay ₦1.2 billion owed to Brims Autos Nigeria Limited for the supply of luxury vehicles to the Benue State House of Assembly.

The contract reportedly covered nine vehicles, including Toyota Hilux pickups, Hiace buses, and Land Cruiser Prados. According to shared documents, the dealer paid a ₦12 million tender fee before delivering the cars on August 28, 2025. However, despite the vehicles being distributed to lawmakers on August 23, the state government has allegedly not made payment.

The allegations, now widely described as part of the Benue Vehicle Payment Scandal, are supported by an invoice and procurement certificate. So far, the Benue State government has not issued a response, leaving the matter unresolved and fueling concerns about procurement practices and accountability within the administration.
