NFF Denies Sunday Oliseh Allegations — The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has rejected claims by former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh that officials misused FIFA and CAF funds. The football body called his remarks false, misleading, and harmful to Nigerian football.

In a statement on October 24, 2025, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau defended the organization’s record. He said the $1 million FIFA grant for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers went directly to player welfare, training, and logistics.

“We run an open system audited by independent bodies. These claims are unfair and hurt the progress we’ve made,” Gusau said. He urged Oliseh to present real proof instead of “social media drama.”

Oliseh had accused the NFF of withholding 2002 World Cup bonuses and diverting funds meant for new qualifiers. His words sparked another wave of debate on corruption in Nigerian football.

Football analysts say this clash is part of a long feud. Oliseh resigned in 2016 after disputes over unpaid wages and poor working conditions. His latest outburst has again divided fans, with many asking for a public audit of NFF accounts.

Hashtags like #NFFCorruption and #SaveNaijaFootball are trending as the NFF stands firm. The federation says it will welcome any probe but urges Nigerians to focus on the World Cup qualifiers ahead.

The NFF denies Sunday Oliseh allegations to restore public trust. Whether this ends the scandal or deepens doubts remains to be seen.
