President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism and strengthening national unity, while calling on international partners to intensify their support for the country’s security and economic reforms.
In a statement on Monday, the President said Nigeria continues to face significant challenges, particularly terrorism, which has plagued the nation for nearly two decades. He, however, assured that the government will not relent until total victory is achieved.
“We are indeed faced with terrorism — a challenge Nigeria has faced for almost two decades — and we will not back down,” President Tinubu said. “We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle.”
Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria is engaging diplomatically with clarity and purpose, confidently asserting its presence on the global stage while championing the nation’s interests.
He noted that despite the enormity of the task ahead, the administration remains firmly committed to sustaining ongoing reforms and delivering a prosperous, inclusive future for all Nigerians.
“Nigeria is one united family. We rise together, move forward together, and reject despair in favour of determination. Our future is far more robust and stronger than any fears we may have,” he added.
The President vowed that no effort would be spared in eliminating criminal elements threatening the country’s security, urging allies to stand firmly with Nigeria as it scales up the fight against terrorism.
“We have made significant progress in the past two years, and we will decisively eliminate this threat,” he said.
Tinubu also expressed deep appreciation to the men and women of the armed forces and intelligence agencies who continue to serve with courage and sacrifice, describing their dedication as the backbone of Nigeria’s security efforts.
“Nigeria will remain a reliable partner and dependable ally to its friends, and a steady voice for stability,” he assured, welcoming further collaboration and support from international partners in strengthening both security and economic growth.
