Lobi Stars have announced Lafia City Stadium as their adopted home ground for the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The decision follows the Nigeria National League’s disapproval of the club’s traditional venue, McCarthy Stadium in Makurdi, which failed to meet the minimum standards required to host league matches.
Lafia City Stadium, which also accommodates Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Nasarawa United and fellow NNL club FC Basira, will now serve as the Makurdi-based team’s base for all home fixtures throughout the season.
The club is scheduled to open its campaign this weekend with a highly anticipated clash against City FC at the Lafia venue.
The 2025/26 NNL season commenced last Saturday, with FC Basira marking their debut in style by defeating Mighty Jets 3–1 in Lafia.
