Charles Inojie’s warning to politicians has sparked strong reactions across Nigeria. The veteran Nollywood actor delivered a direct and impassioned message to the country’s political class, accusing them of remaining silent while insecurity continues to spread.
Inojie asserted that Nigeria’s leaders have allowed banditry, insurgency, and kidnappings to grow unchecked. He warned that their silence has contributed to destroying the country’s security and stability.
He pointed out that many politicians show no concern, even as their own communities live in fear. Farmers are unable to access their farmland. Students feel unsafe in their schools. Families are attacked on the roads and in markets. Yet, many leaders continue to choose to look the other way.
“Dear Nigerian politician, whatever your position, know today that your silence makes you complicit,” he declared. He added that any leader who witnesses this level of suffering and remains silent is part of the problem.
Inojie condemned the excuses often used to justify silence: political loyalty, ethnicity, religion, or party affiliation. He stressed that none of these reasons should blind leaders to the reality of a nation sliding toward anarchy.
According to him, ignoring the crisis for personal gain or political expediency is dangerous and immoral. “If you remain silent while your people are in danger, you are complicit,” he stated.
Inojie concluded with a stark reminder that no one remains in power forever. He warned that a time will come when every leader will have to answer for their actions, or their inaction. “Today it belongs to you. Tomorrow it belongs to someone else. When tomorrow comes, you will answer for your complicity… before your Creator.”
His message has sparked widespread debate, and many Nigerians are praising him for speaking out courageously at a time when insecurity continues to threaten the entire nation.
