President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that the 38 worshippers kidnapped in Eruku, Kwara State, have been rescued following intensified security operations across the country. He also confirmed the recovery of 51 of the missing students from a Catholic school in Niger State.

In his statement, the president explained that he canceled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee security measures in his country. He said the decision was necessary to ensure a swift and effective response to the series of kidnappings reported in recent days.

Tinubu praised the security forces for what he described as significant progress in combating crime. He noted that he receives continuous updates from frontline commanders as operations continue throughout the country.

The president reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the lives and property of all citizens, emphasizing that no part of the country will be left behind in the renewed security offensive.

“All Nigerians, in all states, have the right to security, and under my supervision, we will protect this nation and our people,” he said.
