Benue – Makurdi, Nigeria — December 6, 2025

A high-level delegation from the U.S. Congress, accompanied by the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State and the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, visited Government House in Makurdi today for strategic discussions on the humanitarian and security situation in Benue State and the broader North Central region.

During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail current security concerns in the region, the impact of displacement on communities, and the need for greater collaboration to support peacebuilding efforts.
