The Ogblo Community Development Association’s much-anticipated maiden football tournament delivered pure excitement on Tuesday, as Onyuwei United defeated Dynamites FC Adankari 4–2 in a breathtaking encounter at the Primary School Field, Aturukpo.
The Group fixture, played on December 16, 2025, drew football lovers from far and near, creating a vibrant atmosphere as fans passionately backed their hometown heroes.
A Fierce Battle From Kick-Off
The match began with high intensity, both sides displaying tactical discipline and hunger to win. Onyuwei United settled quicker into the contest, controlling possession and dominating the midfield with pressing and fast build-ups.
Their efforts paid off early, as poor defensive coordination from Dynamites FC allowed Onyuwei’s attackers to strike twice within the first half. Dynamites attempted to respond through counter-attacks, but Onyuwei’s defensive organization prevented clear scoring opportunities.
The first half ended 2–0 in favor of Onyuwei United, leaving the Dynamites bench visibly frustrated.
Second Half Drama Unfolds
Dynamites FC returned from the break determined to turn things around, pushing high and creating more threatening chances. Their attacking intent opened spaces for Onyuwei United, who punished them again with a quick third goal.
The midfield battle intensified, with both sides showing strong tactical awareness and commitment. Dynamites FC finally broken through, pulling one back through sustained pressure. But Onyuwei responded almost immediately, restoring the three-goal cushion.
Dynamites FC scored a late consolation goal, but it wasn’t enough to change the narrative, sealing a 4–2 victory for Onyuwei United.
