The Headquarters of Defence (HCD) announced the deployment of special forces and air support units across the country to prevent attacks and bolster security during the Christmas holidays.
In a statement released ahead of the holidays, military officials indicated that the enhanced deployment aims to deter criminal activity, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes that typically increase during major celebrations.
The HCD stated that the strategy includes the use of specialized ground units and air assets to support troops on the ground, enhance rapid response capabilities, and strengthen surveillance in high-risk areas.
