Ado Local Government Chairman Supports Church Growth, Extends New Year Monetary Gift to Widows and the Less Privileged

The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, has commenced the New Year on a note of compassion and gratitude with a goodwill visit and monetary support to widows and less-privileged members of St. James’ Methodist Church, Utonkon.

The Chairman made a surprise appearance during a thanksgiving gathering of the Women Fellowship, who had assembled to appreciate God for life, good health, and a successful crossover into the New Year. His unannounced visit was met with excitement and spontaneous cheers, creating a moment of joy and warm fellowship within the congregation.

In a symbolic gesture of love and solidarity, Engr. Sunny Oche made a cash donation to support widows and less-privileged women of the church as a New Year gift. He described the visit as a personal homecoming, acknowledging the church’s enduring role in shaping his life and values. The Chairman noted that he and members of his family were baptized into the Methodist faith and have remained closely connected to the church over the years.

Recalling his formative years, Engr. Oche highlighted his active participation in church activities while growing up, as well as his early education at Wesley Primary School, Utonkon, an institution established and managed by the Methodist Church. He remarked that the church has remained an integral part of his journey, inspiring his resolve to give back, particularly to widows and those in need.

Addressing the women, the Council Chairman encouraged them to remain steadfast in faith and hopeful about the future, assuring them that widowhood or economic hardship should not diminish their potential or dignity. He pledged his continued support, emphasizing that his commitment goes beyond prayers to practical assistance whenever the need arises. He further assured them that his doors remain open to listen and respond to their concerns.

Responding on behalf of the women, the spokesperson expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman for what they described as a God-sent New Year gift, offering prayers for divine blessings and abundance in his life and leadership.
