The Adamawa State Government has concluded preparations to host President Bola Tinubu for a one-day official visit scheduled for Monday, during which several landmark projects will be inaugurated across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, disclosed this on Sunday in Yola, stating that the visit reflects federal recognition of the developmental progress recorded under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
According to Iliya, the president’s visit will feature the commissioning and unveiling of multiple infrastructure projects executed by the state government, spanning education, road construction, governance, justice delivery, healthcare, and security.
Among the key projects to be inaugurated are the newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expansion of Bank Road in Yola, and a modern model school located in Yola North Local Government Area. He explained that the school is one of 21 model institutions recently built across the state.
The commissioner further disclosed that President Tinubu will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a permanent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Malkohi. In addition, the president will commission the ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil the newly installed automated gate at the Government House, and inaugurate the newly constructed Governor’s Office complex.
Iliya noted that the projects collectively demonstrate the state government’s commitment to improving living standards and strengthening governance through targeted investments in critical sectors.
He urged residents of Adamawa to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and cooperative throughout the president’s visit, calling on citizens across political lines to come out and warmly receive the president as a show of unity and hospitality.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security measures ahead of the visit. The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, ordered the deployment of tactical units, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad, and Traffic Control teams.
According to the police, the security operatives will conduct both overt and covert operations across the state to ensure a safe and hitch-free visit.
