The newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State, Bala Bodinga, has issued a strong warning to criminal elements, declaring that the state will not provide any refuge for lawbreakers under his leadership.
Bodinga, who has taken over as the 15th substantive State Commandant, said anyone involved in vandalism, illegal mining, infrastructure sabotage, or other criminal activities would be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.
His deployment to Kwara State was approved by the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Audi, as part of nationwide efforts to enhance security operations and improve command effectiveness across all states.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Ayoola Shola, the new Commandant stressed that the protection of lives, property, and critical national assets would remain a top priority. He noted that his administration would adopt intelligence-driven strategies and proactive patrol operations to deter criminal activities.
Bodinga brings to the role extensive experience gathered from years of operational leadership across multiple states. He previously served as State Commandant in Kebbi, Jigawa, and Kano, where he was credited with strengthening internal security structures and improving response efficiency.
He also served as National Arm Commander of the Special Forces at the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja, where he oversaw high-risk security operations and tactical deployments at the national level.
The Commandant assured residents of Kwara State that his leadership would foster stronger collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional rulers, community heads, and other stakeholders to enhance peace and stability across the state.
He further appealed to the public to remain alert and provide credible intelligence to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation is critical in achieving sustained security and crime prevention.
