President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured residents of Jos that recent deadly attacks in the city will not be repeated, following his visit to the affected community.
The president made the pledge while meeting victims, community leaders, and security officials in the aftermath of the violence that left several people dead and many others injured.
During the visit, Tinubu expressed deep sympathy for families who lost loved ones, acknowledging that no form of compensation could replace their loss. He, however, promised that the government would take decisive steps to prevent a recurrence.
He also addressed one of the grieving mothers captured in a widely shared video, offering words of comfort and assuring her of the government’s support.
Tinubu emphasised that restoring lasting peace in Jos remains a top priority, stressing that his administration is focused on delivering security and stability rather than merely responding to crises.
According to him, the goal is to return the city to its former state of peace and coexistence, while ensuring that citizens can live without fear.
The visit comes amid growing concerns over insecurity in Plateau State, as authorities continue efforts to stabilise the situation and prevent further escalation.
