Pams Chicken Nuggets Recalled in NZ: Here’s Why You Should Check Your Freezer Now!

If you’ve recently stocked up on Pams Tempura Coated Chicken Nuggets, it’s time to double-check those bags! Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd has issued a recall for a specific batch of the 1kg packs due to potential contamination with blue rubber fragments – yep, you read that right, blue rubber.

The affected nuggets have a best-before date of 16 October 2025 and were sold across popular New Zealand supermarkets, including Four Square, Gilmours, New World, Pak’nSave, and Social Supermarket stores. The recall is purely precautionary, backed by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), to ensure consumer safety.

What Should You Do?
Vincent Arbuckle, Deputy Director-General of New Zealand Food Safety, advises, “If you have a 1kg bag of Pams Tempura Coated Chicken Nuggets with that specific best-before date, don’t eat them.” Instead, you can either return the product to the store for a full refund or safely dispose of it if a return isn’t convenient.

No Other Pams Products Affected
Only this batch of chicken nuggets is impacted – no other Pams products are involved. Foodstuffs has already removed the affected items from store shelves, ensuring no more are being sold.

Health Concerns?
If you’ve already eaten the nuggets and are feeling unwell or worried, it’s best to seek medical advice just to be safe.

To all nugget lovers out there – stay safe, check your freezer, and don’t let this batch of blue-rubber-tainted snacks ruin your meal plans!
