A devastating accident occurred on Tuesday evening at Idemili Junction, near Oba in Idemili South LGA, Anambra State, as a truck carrying a 40-foot container lost control and crashed into a shuttle bus, several tricycles, and pedestrians.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the truck, which suffered brake failure while descending a hill, veered uncontrollably into the busy junction, crushing vehicles and trapping passengers and bystanders under the massive container.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson in Anambra, Margaret Onabe, confirmed the accident but stated that a detailed report was still being awaited from officers at the scene.

As rescue efforts continue, the number of casualties remains uncertain, but fears are high that many lives may have been lost. Authorities urge commuters to exercise caution and remain patient as emergency responders work to clear the wreckage.
