The Super Eagles are assembling in full force as Nigeria ramps up preparations for two must-win 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
As of Tuesday morning, 22 players had reported to camp, leaving just Alhassan Yusuf yet to arrive.
Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel Mustapha, Kayode Bankole, Amas Obasogie, and Tolu Arokodare were among the early arrivals, getting straight to work with a gym session on Monday evening. Later, the squad saw reinforcements with the arrivals of Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Jordan Torunarigha, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Igoh Ogbu.
By Tuesday morning, key senior players including captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Joseph Aribo, Ola Aina, and Sadiq Umar had joined the camp, further solidifying the squad.
With Nigeria currently sitting in a disappointing fifth place in their qualifying group, pressure is mounting on the team and head coach Eric Chelle. The Super Eagles are winless in their last four games, making these upcoming fixtures crucial to their World Cup hopes.
Nigeria faces table-toppers Rwanda in Kigali on March 21 before returning to Uyo to take on Zimbabwe on March 25.
The final player is expected to arrive shortly, with the team scheduled for their first full training session on Tuesday evening. With World Cup dreams on the line, all eyes are on the Super Eagles to deliver.
