Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday paid a visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at his residence in Abuja, sparking speculation about the purpose of their meeting.

The visit, which was revealed by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, on social media platform X, comes at a politically charged moment.

“The Uncommon Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during his visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his residence today,” Olayinka posted, sharing photos of the meeting.

While details of their discussion remain undisclosed, the timing raises eyebrows as it happened just before President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State. The declaration led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and state lawmakers for an initial six months.
