Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the son of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, has an unusual advantage in his budding career—he’s eligible to represent five different countries at the international level, according to a report by Sports Outlet, 433.
At just 14 years old, the young Ronaldo has already shown glimpses of his father’s talent in various youth teams. His eligibility for multiple national teams comes from his birthplace, heritage, and residency in different countries.
Ronaldo Jr. qualifies to play for Portugal through his father’s nationality. Since he was born in the United States, he is also eligible to represent the American national team.
His early years in Spain, where he lived for three years while his father played for Real Madrid, could allow him to play for La Roja. Additionally, having spent over five years in England during Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United, he meets the criteria to represent the Three Lions.
Lastly, due to family ties, he also has the option to represent Cape Verde, the West African nation linked to his ancestry.
While it remains to be seen which country he will choose—if he follows in his father’s footsteps—one thing is certain: Ronaldo Jr. has plenty of options.
