The Asagba of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge, has called on the Federal Government to enhance flight operations at Asaba Airport and provide crucial support for young Delta pilots striving to advance in their careers.
During a visit to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in Abuja, the revered monarch emphasized the need to boost Asaba Airport’s status, making it an international hub capable of handling increased flight traffic, including overnight stays for large aircraft.
Beyond infrastructure, the Asagba also highlighted the untapped potential of Delta’s aspiring pilots, many of whom have undergone basic training but lack the resources to progress further. He urged the minister to explore government-backed initiatives and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to help these young talents achieve full professional certification.
According to the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Tunde Moshood, the Asagba’s advocacy aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s aviation sector and empower its next generation of pilots.
