Ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, the Jigawa State Police Command has launched a comprehensive security strategy aimed at ensuring a safe and peaceful holiday across the state.

In a key security meeting held on Wednesday, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdullahi, outlined a robust plan to prevent any security breaches during the festive period. The strategy, which prioritizes proactive measures and community engagement, was discussed in detail by the Commissioner and key police officials.

The meeting brought together senior officers, including Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and members of the management team, to focus on operational preparedness for the Sallah period. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, shared the details with the press, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and readiness.

“All DPOs have been instructed to draft their operational orders for review and approval, ensuring comprehensive security coverage,” said Adam. High-risk locations were identified, and tailored security measures were put in place to address potential threats effectively.

The Commissioner of Police also underscored the importance of community engagement, urging public awareness campaigns on security risks and the consequences of criminal activities. “It is crucial to keep the public informed and vigilant,” Abdullahi said, stressing that the police would remain proactive throughout the holiday.

To ensure seamless supervision, the CP has ordered all DPOs and Area Commanders to remain within their respective divisions, overseeing operations and ensuring effective coordination during the Sallah period. Special focus will be given to controlling mob actions and addressing homicide-related incidents with proactive strategies.

The police are also stepping up patrols and visibility policing, especially during tahajjud prayers, when large gatherings are expected. Abdullahi urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

In closing, the Commissioner reaffirmed the Jigawa Police Command’s commitment to a peaceful and secure Eid celebration. “Together, with the cooperation of the public, we will ensure a safe and joyous holiday for all,” he concluded.
