The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects, including a native doctor, for the gruesome ritual killing of seven-year-old twins, Chizaram and Chidinma Onuche, in Port Harcourt.
According to the police, the children were drugged, slaughtered, and their body parts harvested for money rituals. SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed that the prime suspect, 27-year-old Aniekan Uko, lured the minors to an uncompleted building in Rukpokwu, where he sedated them with an alcoholic drink known as Black Bullet before carrying out the horrific act.
Following his arrest, Uko confessed that he was introduced to ritual killings by a native doctor, Kingsley Opurum, 43, who allegedly instructed him to provide human blood and body parts for a money-making ritual.
Police operatives also arrested Uko’s girlfriend and another suspect, Friday Silas, 47, who reportedly allowed the crime to take place in his uncompleted building.
During the investigation, officers recovered shocking evidence, including a bottle filled with the victims’ blood, photographs of unidentified individuals, and an empty Black Bullet drink container.
The remains of the children have been deposited at the mortuary for an autopsy, while the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olesegun Adepoju, has assured the public that all those involved will face the full weight of the law.
“Investigations are ongoing to identify any additional accomplices in this horrifying crime,” Iringe-Koko added.
