Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially commissioned the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Library Complex at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, on October 21, 2025, marking a major leap in Nigeria’s educational development. Billed as West Africa’s largest library, the ultra-modern complex represents a new era of digital learning and academic innovation.
The library, designed to accommodate over 5,100 readers, is equipped with high-speed internet, smart classrooms, research hubs, and e-library systems that grant students and researchers round-the-clock access to global resources. Governor Sanwo-Olu described the facility as “a launchpad for dreams and a hub for innovation that will redefine how our youth learn and create.”
Built under the THEMES+ education agenda, the project underscores Lagos’s commitment to strengthening public universities and bridging Nigeria’s knowledge divide.
