The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled several top members at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, in a major disciplinary move. The party is stepping up efforts to restore unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
Among those affected are former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Senior Advocate Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, and Honorable Austin Nwachukwu. Several other members accused of anti-party activities were also expelled.
The decision was overwhelmingly approved by the party’s delegates, indicating renewed efforts to heal internal divisions and strengthen party discipline after years of infighting that have slowed its political momentum.
Party officials say the move is part of a broader strategy to restore public confidence and position the PDP as a more cohesive and credible opposition force ahead of the next general elections.
More details will be released later.
