The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced a revision to the reporting time for candidates participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

According to the update, candidates scheduled for the first session are now expected to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00 a.m., replacing the earlier 6:30 a.m. requirement.

The examination body explained that while the arrival time has been adjusted, the actual exam schedule remains unchanged. The first session will still begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 10:30 a.m.

JAMB clarified that candidates do not need to reprint their examination slips, as the adjustment does not affect other details already provided.

The board also released a structured timetable for daily sessions, which will run from Monday through Friday across various Computer-Based Test centres nationwide. The revised timing is part of efforts to improve coordination and reduce challenges faced by candidates.

The change follows concerns raised by candidates and parents over early morning travel, especially the risks associated with moving before daylight and the difficulty faced by those travelling from distant locations.

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to take place between April 16 and April 25, with thousands of candidates expected to participate across the country.
