Davide Zappacosta got things rolling with a deflected opener before Lookman set up Mateo Retegui for Atalanta’s second. The Nigerian forward then dazzled with a solo effort before halftime and coolly slotted home his second after the break. Zappacosta wrapped up the rout with a late strike.
Despite his standout performance, Lookman’s tense relationship with Gasperini was evident—he noticeably skipped a handshake with the coach after being subbed off.
