Real Madrid’s midfield dynamo Eduardo Camavinga has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious groin injury during their narrow 1-0 win over Getafe on Wednesday.

The club confirmed the news in an official statement on Thursday, revealing that the French international has sustained a complete rupture of the left adductor tendon, an injury that will sideline him for months.

“Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the left adductor tendon,” read the club statement.

Camavinga to Miss Copa Final and More

Camavinga’s injury comes at a crucial time. According to Spanish media, the 22-year-old will not only miss Saturday’s Copa del Rey final against fierce rivals Barcelona but also Real Madrid’s remaining five La Liga matches as they try to close the gap on the league leaders.

There are also growing fears that Camavinga could miss the Club World Cup in the U.S. this summer, with early estimates putting his recovery time at around three months.

Season of Struggles for the French Star

While Camavinga was a standout performer in last year’s La Liga and Champions League-winning campaigns, this season has been a tougher ride. He has struggled for form and consistency, and this latest setback adds to a frustrating spell for the talented midfielder.

His absence will be a huge blow to manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is already managing a tight squad as Madrid pushes on multiple fronts.
