Manchester United have been dealt a major injury setback as Amad Diallo has suffered an ankle injury in training, ruling him out for a significant part of the season.

The 22-year-old winger confirmed the disappointing news on social media, expressing his frustration at being sidelined at such a crucial moment. “Extremely disappointed to be writing this message at such a crucial time of the season,” he shared on Instagram. “Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever! Time to support the boys from the outside. Still lots to play for.”

United released an official statement ahead of their Premier League clash against Tottenham, saying: “We can confirm that Amad has sustained an ankle injury in training that is expected to keep him out for a number of weeks.” The club added an encouraging message: “Setbacks are set-ups for comebacks, @AmadDiallo_19 – we know you’ve got this.”

Amad has been a key player for United this season, racking up nine goals and seven assists while excelling in multiple roles under Ruben Amorim. While initial fears suggested he could be out for the rest of the campaign, United’s update hints at a possible return before the season ends.

His absence only adds to United’s growing injury crisis, with Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Toby Collyer, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez, and Jonny Evans also sidelined. Amorim now faces an uphill battle as he navigates a crucial stretch of the season with a depleted squad.
