In a statement released Thursday, the telecom giant revealed it had detected unauthorized activity on its systems. The breach triggered a swift response from MTN’s security team, who managed to isolate the incident before any major damage could be done.

“We take cybersecurity extremely seriously,” Toriola emphasized. “Although the attackers tried to breach our systems, our defense protocols worked. The integrity of our network in Nigeria remains solid.”
