The Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Birnin Kebbi, has revealed that it has provided medical care to more than 500 cancer patients across Kebbi State.

This was made known by the Acting Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Muhammad Danyaro Rilwanu, who spoke on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Aliyu Hamza Balarabe. He addressed journalists shortly after the wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, visited the hospital as part of her “Walk-Away Cancer Awareness Programme” in the state.

Dr. Rilwanu explained that the patients were drawn from different parts of the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State. He emphasized the importance of early detection and treatment, noting that cancer can be managed effectively if diagnosed in its early stages.
