Willie Obiano, former governor of Anambra State, is reportedly dead.
Although, his death has yet to be confirmed officially as of filing this report, but Sahara Reporters claimed Obiano died in a London hospital.
His personal publicist, Mr. Tony Nezianya, told DAILY POST that he had not received any such news.
He said: “I can’t confirm to you; I’m not aware of such news.”
DAILY POST reports that Obiano served as governor of Anambra State from 2014 to 2022, succeeding Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Born on August 8, 1955, Obiano hailed from Aguleri in the Anambra East Local Government Area.
Recall that he is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N4 billion fraud. More details to come.
