The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Engr. Sunny Oche, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening traditional institutions as critical partners in grassroots governance with the repair and restoration of the official vehicle of the Ada Ado and Chairman of the Ado Local Government Traditional Council, His Royal Highness, Chief Joseph Och’Ikor Onazi.

The official vehicle, which had been inoperable for some time, had constrained the paramount ruler’s ability to effectively carry out official engagements, respond promptly to community matters, and undertake responsibilities requiring movement across the Local Government. Recognising the indispensable role of traditional institutions in sustaining peace, promoting social cohesion, and supporting effective governance, the Chairman directed that the vehicle be repaired and returned to service, enabling the royal father to continue his constitutional and traditional responsibilities without hindrance.

The Ada Ado, as Chairman of the Ado Local Government Traditional Council, provides leadership to the ten Ward Heads and other recognised traditional rulers across the Local Government. As the closest institution of authority to the rural populace, the traditional institution maintains direct interaction with Ward Heads, Clan Heads, Kindred Heads and community leaders, thereby serving as an effective channel for conflict resolution, intelligence sharing, community mobilisation and the maintenance of law and order. This grassroots structure has remained indispensable in fostering peaceful coexistence, preserving cultural values and supporting government policies at the community level.
