The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ilorin Zonal Directorate, has made a significant breakthrough, arresting 37 suspected internet fraudsters across Kwara State within just one week.

In a statement released on Wednesday by Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, it was revealed that 15 suspects were apprehended in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin on March 26, 2025. This arrest followed an earlier successful raid on March 22, where 22 other suspects were arrested from various locations, including Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede.

The arrests came after credible intelligence linked the suspects to various fraudulent internet activities. During the raids, the EFCC recovered several high-end items, including eight luxury cars, smartphones, and laptops used in the commission of the alleged crimes.

The commission has confirmed that the suspects will be charged in court once investigations are concluded, as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle internet fraud in the country.
