Rayo Vallecano’s president, Martin Presa, has addressed the refereeing controversy surrounding his team’s recent match against Barcelona, acknowledging some mistakes but refusing to escalate the issue further.

In an interview with COPE’s ‘El Partidazo’, Presa expressed that while he disagreed with some of the referee’s calls, he does not intend to lodge a formal complaint with the Spanish Football Federation.

Presa pointed out that the real issue lies in the rules of the game rather than the referees themselves, praising Spanish officials as some of the best in the world. Despite occasional errors, he emphasized his trust in their professionalism and competence.

However, Presa did admit that certain decisions during the game were incorrect, including a penalty awarded to Barcelona and a potential foul by Hector Fort in the box. He even suggested that a third decision, involving a disallowed goal for Jorge De Frutos, was also questionable.

Unlike Real Madrid, who recently made a public statement regarding refereeing decisions, Presa chose to remain calm and accept the mistakes, signaling his intention to move forward without creating unnecessary controversy.
