The terrifying attack, which occurred during a night vigil over the weekend, left the congregation in shock. The assailants targeted the church’s leader, Apostle Divine Omodia, shooting him and brutally severing two of his fingers before fleeing with the kidnapped members.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that security forces have launched a rescue operation.

“A rescue team is currently in the bush on their trail,” Edafe assured.

Despite the horror, no ransom demand has been made by the kidnappers, leaving families and church members in distress. Meanwhile, Apostle Omodia has been rushed to a hospital, where doctors are battling to save his life.

The attack adds to growing concerns over insecurity in Nigeria, particularly in places of worship, as communities call for urgent government intervention to curb the rising wave of violence.
