The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has distanced itself from the recent collapse of a giant billboard in Surulere, Lagos, which caused injuries and damage to properties.

In response to the incident, LASAA announced it had sanctioned the company responsible, Radius Resources Limited, which had already been suspended since October 24, 2024, for unethical practices.

The agency emphasized its commitment to public safety, stating that the fallen billboard was illegal and not registered with LASAA. It also reaffirmed its efforts to regulate advertising structures across Lagos, particularly within military, police, and air force formations, despite facing challenges in enforcing compliance.

A stop-work order has been issued at the site to prevent further accidents, and LASAA has formally notified the Nigerian Army to halt all billboard installations in the area for reassessment.
