The Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche, has joined the Alia Generation Women, under the leadership of Hon. Mrs. Jane Atsegha, to honour Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, PhD, for his contributions to public service and his commitment to the development of Benue State.
The event, held on Monday, 25 August 2026, at the Fr. Alia Ultra Modern Conference Hall, SEMA, Makurdi, was organised by the Alia Generation Women as part of activities marking the formal launch of the mobilisation of support groups for the 2027 re-election campaign of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
In his goodwill message, the Ado Local Government Chairman expressed profound appreciation to Governor Alia for what he described as his leadership, dedication to infrastructure, community welfare and inclusive governance. He noted that the administration’s efforts had contributed to visible developments and renewed confidence among citizens across the state.
The Chairman also congratulated Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, PhD, on the honour bestowed on him, describing the recognition as a commendable acknowledgement of his service and contributions. He equally commended the Alia Generation Women and its Convener, Hon. Mrs. Jane Atsegha, for their organisational efforts and commitment to supporting the Governor’s development agenda.
As part of his support for the mobilisation activities, the Chairman disclosed the provision of a branded Hummer bus to facilitate mobilisation and outreach activities ahead of the 2027 election. He expressed confidence in the continued leadership of Governor Alia and prayed for wisdom, strength and success for the Governor in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of Ado Local Government to constructive participation in initiatives that promote development, unity and the wellbeing of the people of Benue State.
