Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has confirmed that all outstanding financial issues within the national team have been resolved ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup playoff fixtures.
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Troost-Ekong announced that the players’ dues had been settled and assured fans that the squad remains united and fully focused on representing the country.
“Issue resolved. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. Team is united and focused as before on representing Nigeria with our maximum for the games ahead,” the defender wrote.
His statement comes amid reports of payment delays that had threatened to unsettle the team’s preparations. With the matter now resolved, the Super Eagles are expected to concentrate fully on their forthcoming matches.
