Gov Idris Meets President Tinubu on Kebbi Security, Outlines Measures After Rescue of Schoolgirls

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State on Friday held a strategic meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss ongoing security concerns and development priorities in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, Idris expressed appreciation to the President for the swift intervention that facilitated the rescue of the 24 students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, last week.

During the engagement, the Governor presented a comprehensive update on the security situation in affected communities and briefed the President on measures already underway to safeguard lives and property. He also outlined key development initiatives in agriculture, education, and healthcare designed to accelerate socioeconomic growth in Kebbi State.

The discussions further explored enhanced cooperation between federal and state authorities, particularly in intelligence gathering, rapid response mechanisms, and coordinated military and police operations aimed at preventing future attacks.

President Tinubu commended Governor Idris for his decisive handling of the security challenges and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to supporting ongoing efforts to restore peace and foster development in the state.

Governor Idris was accompanied to the meeting by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
