On the eve of the Osun gubernatorial elections on August 8, 2026, Dele Oladeji, president of the Accord Party in Lagos State, expressed his confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke would provide the best governance if elected on the party platform.
Oladeji made this statement following an Accord Party congress held in Osogbo, where Adeleke emerged as the gubernatorial candidate after defecting from the People’s Democratic Party amid internal leadership disagreements.
According to Oladeji, Adeleke’s leadership style aligns with the Accord Party’s vision of people-centered governance, adding that his performance in office has demonstrated a strong commitment to social welfare and economic development.
He asserted that Adeleke’s administration has the potential to establish a governance model that can serve as a benchmark not only for Osun State but also for other parts of the country.
Oladeji further stated that the party believes Adeleke’s track record in office positions him as the most qualified candidate to drive development and deliver tangible benefits to the state’s residents.
Adeleke, speaking through party representatives, urged opposition candidates to focus their campaigns on their record in office rather than on promises, noting that his years in office have already resulted in visible improvements across various sectors of Osun State.
