Ado Local Government Chairman Receives Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria in Igumale

The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government, Engr. Sunny Oche, on behalf of the Government and people of Ado, received the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Oliver Ali Aba, JP, during a pastoral visit to the Ado Diocese community in Igumale.

The visit formed part of the Prelate’s nationwide spiritual outreach aimed at strengthening faith, unity, and moral values among the faithful, as well as offering prayers for the people.

Receiving the Prelate and his wife, Deaconess Maria Onyaidu Aba, JP, Engr. Sunny Oche expressed profound gratitude for the visit, describing it as a moment of spiritual renewal and encouragement for continued growth in faith and service. He commended the Methodist Church for the establishment of the Ado Diocese, noting that it represents a significant recognition of the mother Church in Idoma land established in 1924 and its elevation to a well-deserved status.

The Chairman further expressed appreciation for witnessing such a historic moment during his tenure, as the creation of the Diocese and the Prelate’s visit coincided with his administration. He reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Church, acknowledging its role in shaping his life, and pledged continued support not only in his capacity as Chairman but also as a committed member.

In his remarks, the Prelate encouraged leaders and members of the Church to remain steadfast in service, peace, and righteousness within their communities. He commended the Chairman for his leadership and reminded him that the position of Chairmanship serves as a stepping stone to greater responsibilities. He offered prayers for divine elevation in accordance with the Chairman’s aspirations and appreciated his steadfast support and dedication to service to humanity.

The Prelate was accompanied by his wife, Deaconess Maria Onyaidu Aba, JP; the Archbishop of Benue, Most Rev. J.Y. Ngbede, JP and his wife; the Bishop of Ado Diocese, Rt. Rev. David Ogwuche Job, JP; the Bishop of Agatu, Rt. Rev. Mark Ochenjele; the Archdiocesan Lay President of Ebonyi, Professor Sunday Onwe; the Archdiocesan Lay President of Benue, Hon. Lady Faith Agbo; the Archdiocesan Council Secretary of Benue Archdiocese, Very Rev. John Agada; the Lay President of Ado Diocese, Elder Erastus O. Ochigbo; and the Prelate’s Chaplain, Very Rev. Solomon Aasa.

Members of the Chairman’s delegation included the Deputy Leader of the Ado Legislative House, Hon. Sunday Ogenyi; the Majority Leader, Barr. Francis Ojoko; the Chief Whip, Hon. Queen Oganya Attah; the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Justice Ogaba; the Protocol Officer to the Chairman, Hon. Moses Onumah; and Mr Gowon Obande, among others.

The visit was marked by prayers, fellowship, and renewed commitment to faith, unity, and community development.
