The All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, on Friday continued his consultation tour across the nine Local Government Areas of the district with a strategic stakeholders’ engagement in Ado Local Government Area ahead of the party primaries scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.
As part of activities during the visit, Comrade Onjeh paid a courtesy call on the Ada Ado, His Royal Highness Chief Joseph Och’Ikor, where he formally presented his aspiration and sought royal blessings. The royal father advised the aspirant to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to the principles of responsible leadership and service to the people. He also prayed for a peaceful and successful outing throughout the consultation process.
Addressing party stakeholders, delegates, youth and women groups, students’ representatives, and community leaders, Comrade Onjeh outlined his vision for effective representation in the Senate. He expressed concern over the condition of critical road infrastructure within Benue South Senatorial District, particularly the Otukpo–Utonkon Road, and stressed the need for stronger legislative advocacy and collaboration with relevant government agencies to improve infrastructure and social services across the zone. He also highlighted key priority areas including access to quality education, youth empowerment and employment, agricultural development, healthcare delivery, security, good governance, and technology-driven innovation.
The APC aspirant noted that his political journey has been driven by a longstanding commitment to public service and the desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of Benue South. He reaffirmed his readiness to work closely with stakeholders and community leaders to promote policies and programmes that would improve the welfare of the people and strengthen democratic participation within the district.
The consultation meeting attracted APC leaders and executives from the Local Government, district, and ward levels, alongside party stakeholders and government appointees. Those present included the APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Joseph Oche, members of the party executive committee, ward chairmen, and other stakeholders. The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government, Engr. Sunny Oche, was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Ogaba Friday, who commended the peaceful conduct of the engagement and encouraged continued unity within the party ahead of the primaries.
Stakeholders at the meeting appreciated Comrade Onjeh’s engagement with party structures and his commitment to consultation and inclusiveness. Representatives of various groups who spoke during the interaction encouraged issue-based campaigns and sustained collaboration among party members in the collective interest of the APC and the development of Benue South Senatorial District.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the aspirant to interact directly with community members and gain deeper insight into the developmental challenges affecting different communities within Ado Local Government Area. The engagement concluded on a positive note, with party faithful and supporters expressing optimism for a peaceful and successful primary process.
